강강술래는 전라남도 서남 해안 지방에서 추석 같이 보름달이 뜬 밤에 하는 대한민국의 전통 민속놀이입니다. 
Ganggangsullae is a traditional Korean folk game played on a full moon night like Chuseok on the southwestern coast of Jeollanam-do.

밝은 보름달이 뜬 밤이면, 수십 명의 마을 처녀들은 손을 맞잡아 둥그렇게 원을 만들어 돕니다.
On a night with a bright full moon, dozens of village female people hold hands and make one big circle.

한 사람이 ‘강강술래’하며 앞부분을 선창하면 나머지 사람들이 ‘강강술래’하고 받는 소리를 합니다.
When one person sings "강강술래" and sings the front part, the rest of the people repeat "강강술래."

이는 왼쪽으로 발을 옮겨 원을 그리며 돌고, 노래는 갈수록 점점 빨라집니다.
People move in a circle by stepping their feet to the left, and the song gets faster as it goes on.

이 놀이는 밤새도록 춤을 추며 계속되며 원무를 도는 도중, 농촌이나 어촌 생활을 장난스럽게 묘사한 민속놀이를 하는 것이 특징입니다. 남생이 놀이, 기와 밟기, 쥔쥐새끼놀이, 문지기놀이, 가마등, 수건돌리기 등 다양한 놀이가 있습니다.

강강술래의 기원을 알아보면, 약 2000년 전에 존재했던 마한의 농촌 풍습에서 발견되어 상당히 오랜 시간 구전된 풍속입니다.
If we look at the origin of 강강술래, it was discovered in the rural customs of Mahan that existed about 2000 years ago. It is a custom that has been passed down orally for a long time.

임진왜란 때 이순신 장군이 강강술래를 '의병술'로 채택하여 승리를 거두었다는 구전도 있습니다.
During the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, Admiral General Yi Sun-shin adopted 강강술래 as "의병술" and won the victory.

결론적으로, 강강술래는 한국의 대표적인 민속 예술이라고 할 수 있습니다.
